July 4th Fishing Trip

The kids in front of the biggest of the catch.
Michael, Jacob, Tyler, & Davis

We had the opportunity to go fishing out of San Roc Cay Marina in Orange Beach. Trip's friend Lannie, who lives in Orange Beach, has a boat, but the seas were too high to take it. Soooo, he knows the Captain of a fabulous boat that accommodates lots of people. I wish I had taken a picture of it. Gorgeous! It was mostly the men and their sons, but a few of the women went along as well. Those women who were not interested in fishing stayed behind and got manicures and pedicures. We had 17 total on the trip that included the Captain, his wife & daughter, 2 deck hands, and all of us. Since there is a 2 snapper per person limit, we caught 34 fish. We went out about 25 miles, dropped our lines in 2 fishing holes and fished for a total of about 45 minutes. These were some of the biggest snapper I have EVER seen! The biggest one weighed about 17-18 lbs. There was a boat that came in before us unloading their fish. Their biggest was half the size of our smallest one. Our hats are off to the Captain for hooking us up!
